Isolated inverters are very important for rural electrification in remote areas of the planet. For this reason, KACO is passionate about developing efficient and robust devices.

With the aid of a donated isolated inverter, the Social Solar Club self-help organisation in Rema, Ethiopia operates a mobile solar cinema. The income finances the construction of an old people’s home for the poorest inhabitants of the highlands village.

Grid-coupled inverters are also used in isolated systems. On the Celebrity Solstice cruise ship, 16 Powador inverters feed the solar electricity directly into the on-board grid as consumption is more than the solar electricity production. KACO deactivated the impedance measurement and expanded the shutdown parameters so that the devices operate stably in the ship’s power grid.
